ALTON and Villages’ Local History Forum’s bi-annual local history day takes place next week.

In previous years the event has attracted visitors from near and far, with more than 250 attending last time.

Open from 10am-3pm on Saturday, October 22 at the town’s Assembly Rooms, the event will include displays, resources, maps and photographs, and more from Alton and its surrounding villages, giving an insight into the history of families and buildings.

This year will focus on Froyle, Medstead, Farringdon, East Worldham, Holybourne and Chawton. Books will be for sale and refreshments available. Entry is free.
