A storyteller and Farnham Castle guide is bringing poetry to the town centre after wowing a charity shop with her A-game.
Word on the street is the Cancer Research UK shop on West Street has seen an upturn in trade since Gilly Stewart started writing poetry on their A-board.
Countless shoppers have stopped to read the signwriter’s ditties with her latest featuring a Valentine’s Day theme.
She said: “I’ve been doing signwriting for nearly a year as I was inspired by my friend, Elizabeth Norman, who died of cancer and was the voice of BT1571.
“I saw a sign saying ‘we need a signwriter’ and it started from there. I think it’s catching people’s eyes as they stop to read – we need more poetry!”.
