STUDENTS at Bordon’s Mill Chase Academy have won the regional round of the Hampshire schools’ literature quiz, making it to the county final.

Held in Havant on February 24, the pupils competed in eight tough rounds against five other teams.

Hosted by Park Community School and The Petersfield School, all the pupils taking part were from years seven and nine.

The Mill Chase team members were Rosie Sears (captain), Karen Kent, Craig Stanton and Ross Hulkes.

The early rounds included questions on book illustrations and heroes and villains, and by the fourth round Mill Chase were in the lead. The next set of questions was on Shakespeare’s plays and Rosie inspired the team to a perfect 10.

Karen, Ross and Craig made good contributions to the final rounds, which included general knowledge, and victory was sealed.

The team were awarded the cup, certificates and new books as prizes as well as a place in the March final.
