Chair and director general of the National Trust, Hilary McGrady, will give a lecture on the past, present and future of the organisation at Haslemere Educational Museum on Monday, June 12.

Mrs McGrady will give the annual Educate & Inspire lecture at the Black Down & Hindhead Supporters of the National Trust’s annual meeting.

She will talk through the various ‘chapters’ of the National Trust’s history, and how it has evolved its work to meet the biggest areas of national need across nature, beauty and history.

She will then reflect on where the trust is at present, and the next chapter.

The lecture, Meeting the needs of the nation – 128 years of the National Trust, will begin at 7pm on June 12 at Haslemere Educational Museum.

Entry is by ticket only, free for members of Black Down & Hindhead Supporters of the National Trust, and £5 for non-members.

Tickets are available here.

The event will also be streamed live on Zoom – details on request.
