Villagers will celebrate mother nature as a “B-earth Day” event returns to Buriton this Saturday, May 11.
Plans are being finalised for a fun-packed afternoon of activities, stalls and demonstrations with a green theme around the village hall and recreation ground.
Nature, wildlife, pollinators and climate issues in the parish will be the main theme with lots of eco-friendly fun, advice and activities for all ages being promised from 1pm to 4pm.
Visitors can expect face-painting, a fun dog show and bug hunts while organisers have also promised close encounters with bees, magical moths and mesmeric owls.
The Wildlife Trust, RSPB, PeCAN, Southern Water, Petersfield Cycle Buddies and the county council’s pollinator team will be among the many charities and organisations with stalls.
Villagers can compete in nature-friendly competitions and can also ask questions with the developers of the ReCharge eco-lodge scheme about their plans for the Greenway Lane site.
