Jane Browne, the 2022 Surrey Artist of the Year, returns to the New Ashgate Gallery in Farnham for her solo exhibition One Year On from September 23 until November 4.
Inspiration for Jane’s tapestries comes from the interplay between the natural contours of the landscape with shapes and patterns created by different crops.
Jane studied at the West Surrey College of Art and Design – now the University for the Creative Arts – in Farnham, specialising in tapestry weaving.
She said: “I am working on tapestries inspired by the Esso fuel pipeline. It has provided opportunities to capture a moment in time before the pipeline returns to the field landscape as it was.”
