SURREY Police has confirmed it will roll out its controversial "boys in black" uniforms across the force, despite coming in for criticism from Britain's most senior policeman this week.
Police across the South East began sporting the new uniforms, which have replaced the traditional white shirt with a black one, last summer.
But Sir Paul Stephenson, Commissioner of the Met, this week launched a scathing attack, describing the new outfits as "oppressive" and likening them to those worn by the paramilitary.
