Women’s clothing brand Busby & Fox has opened its eighth store in Farnham’s Lion & Lamb Yard.
The independent retailer launched its ‘soft opening’ on Thursday afternoon after a busy week fitting out and merchandising the former Joules shop unit in the Lion & Lamb.
The company is mostly based in the Westcountry, with stores in Exeter, Salcombe, Kingsbridge, Totnes and Truro – but has begun to branch out further east, with stores in Marlborough, Henley-on-Thames, and now Farnham.
The Herald’s Bricks and Mortar Reporter, David Howell, said: “Busby & Fox only received the keys to the shop just before Easter so an April 4 opening is some going having overseen the fitting out process before!
“Busby & Fox’s PR representative, Caroline Wingfield, told me the plan is to have a formal opening in the middle of April.
“Caroline thinks Busby and Fox will be a ‘breath of fresh air in Farnham’, being a high street success story elsewhere. They have had bumper sales and are going from strength to strength.
“Looking at their website I can understand her enthusiasm.”
Our Bricks and Mortar Reporter forecasts 2024 will still be a difficult year for traders in Farnham, “one reason being the high number of independents who trade here”.
In other exciting news for Farnham shoppers, a new patisserie is set to open in The Borough.
Petite Patisserie, created by Leyre Pedrazuela Otero in partnership with the Bush Hotel, hopes to open later this month.
It will be located next to entrance of the hotel’s courtyard and will work with local suppliers.
