Officers investigating an illegal car meet on Sunday night (October 27) have seized eight cars and a motorcycle.
The meet started at Winchester Park and Ride around 8.30pm, with the group being dispersed and travelling on towards Petersfield, and finally gathering at Alton Retail Park just before 10.30pm.
Around 200 vehicles were present across the two hours, with reports of dangerous driving and anti-social behaviour. As part of the investigation, nine vehicles have been seized which are believed to have been at the meet.
Chief Superintendent Darren O'Callaghan said: "Seizing vehicles believed to be involved in dangerous driving and causing misery in our communities is an important step to tackling illegal car meets and allowing us to conduct further enquiries.
"We have made it very clear that if you do engage in such behaviour, then we will be there. We will take all steps to investigate it, and we will remove your car from the road as part of this.
"If you don't want us knocking at your door, then do not drive dangerously on the roads."
During the meet officers attended to disperse the group and work to prevent them gathering in locations.
A number of fines for motoring offences were also issued, including number plates which do not conform to legal standards, and those with non-compliant window tints.
O'Callaghan added: "Through our enquiries, we have witnessed dangerous manoeuvres being performed with large crowds gathered to watch.
"It only takes a split second for this to go horribly wrong and people to be seriously injured, it also puts other road users in danger. We will continue to take action, using all the powers available to us."
