The achievements of three young people with Down Syndrome have been celebrated to mark World Down Syndrome Day.

Stepping Stones DS (SSDS), a Fleet-based charity dedicated to supporting children and young adults with Down Syndrome, hosted an inspiring event on March 21 at The Lismoyne Hotel in Fleet.

Almost 100 guests were present, including Stepping Stones DS families, supporters, school staff, healthcare professionals and councillors.

One of the highlights was the inspiring conversations led by Vik Ralfs, SSDS specialist advisor, with three outstanding young people:

Frankie Harwood shared his inspiring journey to achieving his Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award and raising more than £2,000 for SSDS.

Lloyd Martin discussed his preparations for the London Marathon. At 19 years of age he aims to become the youngest person with Down Syndrome to conquer this challenge.

George shared his graduation from Derwen College and his successful employment at Premier Inn, highlighting the importance of support and determination in achieving one's goals.

The event also featured heartfelt presentations from parents, showcasing the journeys of their children and emphasising the invaluable support provided by Stepping Stones DS.

A raffle raised more than £800, thanks to the generosity of a host of Farnham town centre businesses which donated prizes.
