To make it safer for children Surrey County Council are looking at putting a new “School Street” on Bullers Road, Farnham outside Heath End School

This means temporarily restricting vehicle traffic from the roads during school pick-up and drop-off times. Parents and carers will be asked to walk, scooter or cycle with their children or to park further away from the school and walk the last few minutes of their journey.

This comes in the backdrop of May’s National Walking Month as families across the country will be encouraged to ditch the school run in the car and to walk to school together as a family.

Surrey County Council says the new design will help tackle congestion and improve air quality, making it easier and safer to walk and cycle to school.  It will create a pleasant environment for everyone while making sure residents and businesses located on the street can still use the road.
