AN elderly pedestrian pushing a trolley was hit by a vehicle when crossing the High Street outside M&S on Tuesday.

According to the emergency services, South Central Ambulance Service was called at 12.19pm to attend the incident, dispatching a rapid response vehicle and a road ambulance to the scene.

Paramedics found the stricken lady conscious and sitting up, but she was taken by ambulance to North Hampshire Hospital at Basingstoke as a precautionary measure.
