WHITE Pharmacy has donated £115 to The Abbey School after asking patients to fill out a survey.

The pharmacy has been providing an online doctor service and dispensary for UK patients from its base in Farnham for five years.

Joel Corey was recently appointed to the new role of well-being consultant, with the responsibility of liaising with patients and advising them on a number of quality-of-life related issues.

Rosina Mann, superintendent pharmacist, said: “We wanted to see what our patients thought about the help offered by Joel, so we sent out a survey to a sample of people who had spoken with him.

“As an incentive we said that we would make a donation to The Abbey School for every person who responded. There was overwhelming praise for the valuable service that Joel was providing that, in many cases, was not provided by their GP practice.”

David Jackson, headteacher at the school, said: “The Abbey School provides education for students with learning difficulties, but we are often short of money to fund projects that meet the students’ special needs. Our staff and students value every additional resource that we are able to provide and the donation from White Pharmacy will be used to help furnish a sensory garden with a log cabin that students can use for quiet study.”
