CHILDREN from two village schools near Petersfield have gone to the top of the class in their tests, according to Hampshire's latest annual school league tables.
East Meon Primary School and Buriton Primary School came out tops with all of their pupils achieving level four in reading, writing and mathematics – the basic level children are expected to reach.
The perfect results put both establishments among the top schools in Hampshire and nationwide in the Standard Assessment Tests run by the Department for Education.
