An astonishing private museum of classic cars in a village near Farnham will be opened to the public this weekend as part of a fundraising drive for a Surrey children’s charity.

The tenth annual Challengers Motoring Event takes place this Sunday (July 14) with a vehicular treat for participants and supporters at either end.

There’s two options for fundraisers as anyone with a vintage or classic car, supercar or motorbike is invited to take part in a fundraising tour through the Surrey countryside.

The tour will begin near Weybridge at the iconic Brooklands Museum – regarded as the home of British motorsport – and will finish with a viewing of a very special private motor collection in Churt which is rarely opened to the public.

Alternatively, supporters can simply buy a ticket to the museum and explore its incredible collection of more than 70 pristine vintage cars at their leisure.

“It is an astonishing museum filled with priceless examples of historic and modern cars, all in tip-top condition,” said a spokesperson for Challengers.

“They are kept in a setting packed with automobilia, recreating the atmosphere of days gone by.”

The spokesperson added: “It is one of the UK’s most extensive collections of specialist cars and visitors can enjoy anecdotes from the owners who have raced several of the cars at Goodwood and Le Mans.”

Museum-only tickets are £25 while entry prices for the fundraising tour range from £40 for a single rider motorbike to £80 per car with all proceeds from the event going to Challengers.

The Guildford-based charity gives disabled children and young people aged two to 18 the opportunity to play, have fun, and make friends in a safe and supportive environment.
