CHILDREN at the The Holme Primary School in Headley took part in the school’s annual Feeling Good Week at the end of term.
Every day the pupils and staff focused on a different aspect of wellbeing and learned how to look after themselves and others.
Monday started with spiritual wellbeing, with a prayer trail through the forest. Children wrote prayers and attached them to the trees, created a friendship tree, reflected on how huge the universe is and on God’s love. On Tuesday, the school held a Barnabus religious education day, when the pupils considered what made a winner, linking ideas about the Olympic values of excellence, friendship and respect with stories from the Bible. Physical wellbeing was addressed on Wednesday at sports day, and on Thursday nutrition was on the agenda with different years making different foods; tasting fruit and taking part in a domestic science lesson at Mill Chase Academy. The week ended with a Paralympic day to consider emotional wellbeing, empathy and tolerance.
