CHILDREN at Hollycombe School welcomed parents and family friends to their harvest assembly, with all donations going to the Midhurst Food Bank.

Children of spring class told the story of the Enormous Sunflower based on the story of the Enormous Pumpkin, while pupils of summer class acted out the story of Stone Soup.

Children in autumn class at the West Sussex school, read some harvest poems composed in class as well as singing a rousing harvest samba and winter class pupils based their thanksgiving on a presentation of food shortages during the Second World War which is their topic for this term.
