STUDENTS at Milford’s Rodborough Technology College have been busy supporting Godalming-based charity The Meath Epilepsy Trust.
Rodborough’s School Council nominated The Meath as one of its charities to support in the academic year 2014/15.
The charity’s aim is “to enhance the lives of people who have complex epilepsy and related disabilities by ensuring they receive the support, expert care and encouragement required to build confidence, acquire new skills and maximise independence in their daily lives.”
The Meath won two awards in the 2015 Surrey Care Awards – for ‘Most Innovative Activity Programme involving Service Users’ and ‘Provider of the Year’.
RTC head girl Holly, and head boy David, presented Meath communications manager Ann Spencer, with a cheque for £867.
Headteacher Matthew Armstrong-Harris said: “What a fantastic effort by our students for a very deserving local charity.
“At a time when we as a school reflect on the achievements of our students, I could not be more proud of the effort they put into helping others. My thanks to the parents who encourage and support the students efforts – together we can and do make a difference.”
