CHILDREN at an East Hampshire school have put their heart and soul into raising lots of money for a national charity.
Teachers at Sheet Primary School were seeing red last Friday after holding a range of activities to mark British Heart Foundation Day.
Pupils were encouraged to wear red clothing before learning about the importance of exercise and maintaining a healthy, active heart.
Youngsters enjoyed a day of "fun and fitness" with activities including a sponsored skip and a talk and demonstration on how the heart works.
"The sponsored skip was great and we were really lucky with the weather because it meant we could do everything outside," said headteacher Kathy Isles.
"We also had visits from parents who are experts in heart and cardiovascular exercise who passed on their knowledge to children, and they really enjoyed that."
The school is still collecting the proceeds but hopes to raise more than £100 for the British Heart Foundation.
