This includes Roman cookery, dressing up, weaponry, domestic chores, technology, engineering.
Children will also have an opportunity to take part in a production of Julius Caesar on Tuesday, August 15, with theatre group Faye’s Fables.
The Roman summer will finish with a Glorious Games & Gladiators day on Monday, August 28, where a ‘real’ Roman gladiator will be in action.
Butser has also recently opened a children’s Art & Poetry competition inspired by the theme Roman Life, which will be judged by bestselling Roman Mysteries author Caroline Lawrence.
The deadline for entries is Friday, August 25. All events are open from 10am-5pm. Standard entrance prices apply. Visitors with an annual pass to the farm will be able to attend every Roman Summer event free.
