AS the netball season came to a close last term, the pupils at Rowledge Primary School had plenty to smile about. Despite being a small one-form entry village school, the team who participated in the Farnham Schools Netball League managed to end the season as undefeated league and tournament champions. Lindsey Chivers, the teacher in charge of netball at the school, said: "This is a huge achievement for a school of our size and to finish the season undefeated was a real triumph. The children have trained very hard throughout the year and should be very proud of their success." To celebrate the netball team's fantastic achievement a special assembly was held at the school and the children were delighted to be awarded their winners medals and league and tournament trophies by one of their idols, Georgia Lees, who plays netball for Surrey Storm. Although the children from the winning team will be leaving the school in July to move on to secondary education there is already a new cohort of enthusiasts ready to follow in their footsteps.
