CHAWTON Primary School has a vacancy on its governing body and is appealing for a new volunteer to join the team.

A school spokesman said: “School governors provide strategic leadership and accountability. As volunteers, governors also provide a strong link between the school and the local community.

“We are particularly interested in applicants with a finance background, but all prospective governors are encouraged to apply.”

Chawton Primary School governors attend approximately 10 meetings during the school year. Training and support are offered through Hampshire County Council.
