AN application has been submitted to East Hampshire planners for the construction of a detached bungalow for tourist accommodation for people with severe disabilities, following the demolition of Yew Tree Cottage, Ferney Close, Chawton.
If passed, the proposal, by Tom Yendell of the Flat Spaces Foundation, will enable the charity to offer a second Flat Space similar to the first highly successful property, built in Ropley in May 2015.
The foundation’s aim is to provide a network of identical purpose-built bungalows around the country to enable those with a physical disability, their families and carers, to take holidays, in the knowledge that their needs are catered for as well, if not better, than they are at home.
