One of the biggest festivals in the Farnham area will not go ahead next year because of financial worries at its host site.
Weyfest organisers have cancelled their 2025 event in Tilford because there’s no guarantee the Rural Life Living Museum site which accommodates the festival will be available.
This year’s festival was another success with hundreds of people from around the UK enjoying shows by Lightning Seeds, Kosheen and The Feeling over the four-day event.
But organisers weren’t aware of the financial troubles at the RLLM with the centre making a desperate plea for £150,000 in donations just 11 days before the festival.
The uncertainty meant Weyfest couldn’t take the risk - despite already booking three of the most popular bands ever to play Weyfest - with bookings duly being cancelled for the 2025 event.
Organisers helped out by holding collections at this year’s festival for the RLLM, raising around £7,000.
