Whitehill & Bordon found itself being invaded by the borough of Basingstoke & Deane recently.
In a mix-up caused by roads in the two areas having the same name, Russet Walk and Lambourne Road in Bordon were given signs bearing the Basingstoke crest.
Whitehill town councillor Mike Steevens, who noticed the error, said: "Can anyone spot the obvious mistake in these new road signs that have just gone up in Whitehill & Bordon?
"I know we as town councillors are sometimes the last to know about important matters that affect our town, but surely we haven’t been absorbed into Basingstoke? Not sure who specifically is responsible, but rest assured we have flagged this up with East Hampshire District Council."
East Hampshire said the signs received were the wrong order and were put up by accident. They will be replaced this month.
