MORE than 100 young people showed off their skills at the first two skatepark workshops this year hosted by Waverley Borough Council.
The sessions were designed to help riders of all levels and abilities, aged seven to 18, to take their skills to the next stage.
From starting out on the ramp as a total beginner to perfecting a 180, professional skaters, BMXers and scooter riders were on hand to give tuition, advice and perform the latest tricks.
Waverley’s head of communities and major projects Kelvin Mills said: “Waverley’s skatepark workshops are always very popular and this year’s events were no exception.
“Everyone who took part had a great time, getting some coaching, seeing some amazing stunts performed by the pros and taking part in a competition with prizes including skateboards and t-shirts.”
