There is one church goer who never fails to attend St Margaret’s Remembrance Service.
The perspex soldier was commissioned by the Royal British Legion for the centenary in 2018. You can normally find him sat in the back pews, but each year St Margaret’s pins a poppy to his shoulder and brings him to the front to sit beside the children for the service in his honour.
Mary Oddi, church warden said: “It really resonates with people.”
