“It’s great news to have Farnham Specsavers on board as this year’s corporate sponsor,” said Stephen Hill, the council’s lead member for Farnham in Bloom.
“They are extremely active in the community and a regular supporter of local events. Farnham in Bloom is very much a community focused initiative which sees us working closely with local businesses so it’s excellent to have Farnham Specsavers’ support this year.”
Lateef Iqbal from Farnham Specsavers, added: “Farnham in Bloom is an established part of the town’s calendar. As Farnham’s local opticians, we look forward to seeing the colourful planting schemes over the spring and summer.
“Great gardens stimulate all our senses – touch, taste, smell, sound and, of course, sight – so we are thrilled to be supporting the initiative this year.”
This is the 27th year Farnham has entered the South and South East in Bloom awards and the town has been invited to enter the Royal Horticultural Society’s Britain in Bloom awards for the second year running.
Farnham won 11 awards in last year’s regional competition and hopes to have similar success in 2017.
There are many opportunities to get involved in Farnham in Bloom, including sponsoring a hanging basket for just £60. The basket will be looked after and displayed in Farnham between June and October.
