SPORT Relief came to Petersfield and the surrounding villages last week as the young and not-so-young got into a sporting mode for the good cause.
On Friday, schoolchildren around the district dressed in sporty fashion and took part in a variety of moneyraising antics, raising hundreds of pounds for charity along the way.
At Steep Primary School, a Sport Relief dance off saw 100 children pay £2 to hire a spot in their school hall for a dance relay, egged on by the presentation of medals, and spot and booby prizes, which raised £166.
"It was just a really fun afternoon said Chris Baker the PE coordinator.
Dressed in sporty gear, Liss Infant School pupils began their day with their usual 'wake and shake' aerobics session in the school playground, helped out on Friday by mums and dads who joined in the fun.
The children also swapped the classroom for the Newman Collard playing field where five, six and seven-year-olds from rhinos and hippos and lions and tigers classes all took part in a sponsored one-mile run or four laps around the field.
