THE Ruby Mane team in Farnham’s Lion and Lamb Yard, were joined by friends, family and local businesses to raise funds for the Help4Harry champaign during a special charity day at the hair salon.

Nearly £900 was raised to support Harry, a local eight year old with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

Staff really got behind the event, donating prizes, money and cakes and volunteering their families to join in the fun.

Organiser Colette said: “A massive thank you to all of them and a really special thank you to Holly, Gemma’s mum and Megan who made loads of delicious cupcakes and biscuits.

“Megan helped me find lots of great prizes generously donated by local businesses and the rest of the assistant team were fab in greeting people outside, braiding hair, applying temporary tattoos, hosting games and having fun with our clients.”

Plenty of Farnham businesses donated prizes to the raffle, including a BMW convertible for the weekend – donated by Sophie’s (salon stylist) dad.

There were gift packs from Neal’s Yard, Schwarzkopf and Tigi, flowers from Long Acres (donated by our receptionist Tyla’s parents), restaurant vouchers from Cote, Pizza Express and The Giggling Squid and many more.

Liz from Bubblegum Balloons in Fleet donated huge helium colourful balloons and helped decorate the salon out of hours.

“We are really grateful that so many people gave up their time to help, such as Laura and Rachel who did lots of glitter face painting, Jack for his photography, Laura for bringing along the candy floss machine and Sammy and her mum for making the fabulous selfie frame,” added Colette.

“So much effort went in to the day and we had a brilliant time. We hope the money we raised helps Harry and the Barnley family. We are looking forward to our next event in October to raise even more for them at our curry and quiz night.”
