NEIGHBOURS whose homes back onto Sturt Farm packed a second public exhibition over proposals to build up to 150 houses on the greenfield site.

Monday night's exhibition at Haslewey Community Centre was mounted by planning consultants acting for Tony Lawson, who owns most of the 33 acre site between Haslemere and Camelsdale, ahead of a planning application which is expected to be submitted to Waverley Borough Council by the end of the year.

An online petition has already been signed by 238 people, with links from the Facebook page Save Sturt Farm.

Organiser Christine Turner, who has lived at Sturt Farm Barn since 1981, said the aim was to let Waverley Borough Council know about the strength of feeling against development.
