Police in Waverley are warning homeowners to be on their guard after three bronze statues were stolen from an address in Wrecclesham.
The thefts are one of a number of recent incidents that have occurred across Surrey and Sussex. The three bronze-plated stag statues were stolen at some time between 1pm and 4pm according to Surrey Police.
Investigating officer, PC Brandon Miller said: “Due to their size and weight it would take two to four people to be able to move them and load them onto a vehicle – either a van or a flatbed with a covering over it.
“We are carrying out enquiries but if you were in or around Wrecclesham at this time, or have any CCTV, doorbell, or dashcam footage that could relate then please contact us.”
The theft follows similar offences across other parts of the county and the wider UK where bronze statues have been targeted.
