It will feature all-time favourite classics and contemporary pieces from West End musicals such as Chicago and music from blockbuster films – including the Star Wars theme.
The event is a cultural partnership between the Alton Concert Orchestra, The Phoenix Theatre and Arts Centre and the Whitehill & Bordon Regeneration Company.
Phoenix director Rob Allerston said: “It’s the perfect night out for all generations. Its theme of New Beginnings says so much about looking to the future and we’re looking forward to a great night.”
Orchestra music director Chris Gardner added: “We are planning what we hope will be a delightful and entertaining musical programme to reflect the excitement and expectation of the regeneration of Whitehill & Bordon.”
James Child, project lead at the regeneration company and a former musician, said: “A Night at the Proms promises to be the perfect way to top our festival of events this summer.”
