A road could be named in honour of a Farnham sporting legend with plans for a fitting tribute in the pipeline.
Farnham Town Council has passed their condolences to the family of Graham Thorpe following the cricketer’s death on August 2.
They have also confirmed they will recognise the achievements of the Surrey and England batting great in some way with the matter being passed onto an awards panel.
David Gill of Farnham Sports Council asked the council at their September 12 meeting if there were plans to honour the legend, who scored 16 Test centuries for England and represented the country 182 times in all formats.
Roads have been traditionally named after Farnham sporting legends with examples including Mike Hawthorn Drive and Wilkinson Way.
The former was named after the first F1 British champion Mike Hawthorn while the latter, named in honour of Johnny Wilkinson, leads to Farnham Rugby club.
