AN illegal traveller incursion has vacated the Farnham Leisure Centre car park en masse this morning.

The only remaining evidence of the caravans, which have been encamped in the car park off Dogflud Way for much of the past week, is the portable toilets and bins supplied by Waverley Borough Council.

Around six caravans first arrived in the council-owned car park last Thursday evening, but this number had increased to around 14 by Monday.

Waverley Borough Council issued a Section 77 notice demanding the caravans depart by 5pm on Saturday, which was ignored, followed by a court summons to appear at Staines Magistrates Court at 2pm on Wednesday.

Waverley officers also delivered wheelie bins and portable toilets to the site, following complaints that the caravans’ occupants have been using the car park as a toilet.
