SUPPORTERS of Petersfield's maternity unit are keeping up the pressure to ensure that woman can continue to have their babies in the town.

An online petition launched last month is filling up fast with signatures in support of the unit and now campaigners are asking people to attend a public meeting on November 19.

The campaign follows the temporary closure of the unit at Petersfield Hospital in Swan Street in September.
