Roald Dahl’s Matilda Jr The Musical took over Alton School last week.

Senior school pupils performed it on three nights for friends and family, with pupils from Years 5 and 6 in some scenes. Songs included Revolting Children and When I Grow Up.

Alton School pupils invited Year 5 children from Greatham Junior School, St Peter’s School, Binsted Primary School and Hook Junior School to learn the scene and song Chokey Chant from the production and perform it for their parents.

At a Matilda-themed taster day for Year 3, pupils exploded elephants’ toothpaste, set teachers ‘on fire’, created clay characters, recreated Matilda moments in music and drama, and played sport games.
