THE Minibridge Surrey Schools Competition Trophy has returned to Weydon School in Farnham for the third year, having previously won it in 2012 and 2013.

There were six schools from both government funded and independent sectors that took part in the Minibridge and Bridge competitions.

The competition was held at St Paul’s School for boys in south London. There were 16 pairs of students in the minibridge competition, of which Weydon School sent four pairs from years nine and 10.

Jasmine Nobbs and Aidan Fellows from year 10 fought off tough competition and came away the winners of the Surrey Schools Trophy with the other teams coming in forth and ninth place in their year groups.

Georgraphy teacher Mrs Sommerfelt, who also runs the minibridge club at the school, said: “All the students were fantastic and have been committed to regular attendance of the minibridge club held in school each week.

“As a school we are very proud of them, they will all be eventually moving onto learning full bridge.”
