Weydon year eight student Cameron Clark has become a Champion Young Handler for sheep showing.
Cameron has been showing sheep for about five years. He started by helping his parents at shows and was encouraged to show a friend’s sheep and became so interested that his parents bought him his own sheep.
Cameron shows his sheep far and wide from Devon to Kent and at many local agricultural shows. Practicing takes place on a daily basis.
Cameron feeds his flock every day before school and looks after them again at the end of the school day.
This year has been particularly successful for Cameron as he has won two Champion and 2 Reserve Breed Championships
At the South of England Show he was also made Champion Young Handler, qualifying him for the Rare Breed Survival Trusts Young Shepherd of the Year Awards.
Weydon principal Jackie Sharman said: “Cameron should be very proud of his achievements.”
