FARNHAM Park and Frensham Great Pond and Common are in the running to be crowned the People’s Choice Award winner.
Voting is now open for residents to vote for their favourite Green Flag Award winning park, with a total of seven Waverley managed parks to choose from.
The experts had their say in July, awarding Farnham Park, Broadwater Park, Frensham Great Pond and Common, the Phillips Memorial Park, the Lammas Lands, Blackheath Common and Mare Hill Common with a prestigious Green Flag Award.
Now, the award scheme is asking the nation to have its say and decide which parks and green spaces should receive the People’s Choice Award for being the UK’s favourites.
Councillor Kevin Deanus, portfolio holder for community services, said: “I was absolutely thrilled when I found out we had seven Green Flag Awards but it would be fantastic to add the People’s Choice Award to our collection.
“Our parks really are quite special and are maintained to very high standards. They wouldn’t be the same without the work put in by our amazing volunteers, led by our rangers, and contractor Glendale.
“I’d love to see as many people as possible voting. Let’s try and get our beloved parks the recognition they deserve.”
