FARNHAM Boxing Club celebrated its first anniversary 12 months after stepping into the ring for the first time in April 2015.
Trainer Rikke Askew, said: “I can’t believe it, the last year has just flown by. Saturday was really good, I am overwhelmed with the number of people who came.
“I was positive from the start, there’s nothing in Farnham like this, so I knew it would be good but not this good.
“I think it is fantastic for the community, it is keeping the children off the streets and the parents out of the pub. Next year we are looking to have our own gym, but we need funding. If anyone has any ideas or wants to help us, please get in touch. We will be staying where we are now, but an extension will be built, at the moment we have to take down and put up the boxing ring every time.”
The club would like to thank everyone who has supported them, and a special thanks to all its funders, and Keith Newman from St Thomas-on-the Bourne.
