Forty-five Haslemere Border Athletics Club (HBAC) runners represented the club in the final Southern Cross Country League race of the season at Bourne Woods.
HBAC went into the race with a chance of securing a top-three finish in the league.
An impressive performance by the team secured second place overall in the Bourne Woods race for HBAC.
Notable performances on the day saw Jake Pillans-Payne finish third, Elizabeth Dolin, Sarah Smith, Katie Simmonds and Amy Arthur all finish in the top 17 ladies, and Beth Sutton do the right thing by forsaking her own race to help an injured runner.

In a season where the club has grown in strength in terms of numbers and performances, HBAC finished joint-third in the final league table – a fitting reward for cross country captain Steve Pendegrass’ commitment, time and energy in leading the team.
A strong team of HBAC runners took on the Cancer Research UK London Winter 10km race.
