Comrades A have one hand on the league trophy after Ian Etherington salvaged a draw for the undefeated leaders in their top-of-the-table clash against Sovereign B.

Etherington saw off fellow heavyweight Tony Edwards 61-23 in the final frame after Aaron Downey and Allan Gomez put last year’s champions 2-1 up with one to play.

Lindford B remain in trouble after losing 3-1 to Liss RBL A while Bourne B sit above the bottom two on wins after drawing against bottom side Traco B in a relegation tussle.

Fleet Broadway are inching closer to the Division Two title after a resounding 4-0 win against Lindford C which included breaks of 37 and 22 by Simon Laney and a 38 knock by Ed Thrower. It’s tight for second with Farnham Cons B and Grayshott B both on 39 points with the latter drawing against Hindhead RBL D and the former seeing off Traco F 4-0.

Elsewhere, Charlie West made a 26 break for Liss RBL C in a 2-2 draw against Comrades B while Carl Saunders made his fourth 20-plus knock of the season for Alton Cons F in a draw against Passfield.

Hindhead RBL A seem dead certs for the title but it’s an open division with just three points separating third from eighth with five to play.
