Grayshott Cricket Club hosted a girls’ cricket taster session for local schoolchildren.
The session was attended by 24 Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 girls from three local schools who enjoyed a fun afternoon of cricket at the club.
Grayshott invited girls from Beacon Hill Primary School, St Bartholomew’s Primary School and Grayshott Primary School to an afternoon of cricket coaching skills including batting, bowling and fielding before putting all the skills learnt into a number of eight-a-side games. St Bartholomew’s were the eventual winners of the games. The girls demonstrated excellent progress and had loads of fun along the way.
Simon Tomlins, one of Grayshott Cricket Club’s girls’ coaches, led a team of club coaches to ensure the afternoon went smoothly – with support from five other volunteer coaches from the club.
