The annual Farnham Sports Awards – organised by Farnham Sports Council – were held at a packed Farnham Rugby Club.
The rugby club’s Polly Ross was crowned the Sports Personality of the Year, and many other individuals, teams and clubs received awards for achievements in 2024.
The awards were presented by the Mayor of Farnham Cllr Brodie Mauluka in the first half of the programme and the Mayor of Waverley Cllr John Ward in the second half.
The master of ceremony duties were conducted jointly by Jonathan Jones and Sue Keogh.
At the midway point, a video tribute was made to cricketer Graham Thorpe, who passed away last August.
Sports council chairman David Gill said: “Graham was a cricket legend and certainly one of Farnham’s all-time sporting greats so the tribute was wholly appropriate at Farnham’s sporting showcase of the year.”
Several clubs took centre stage on the evening.
Farnham Rugby Club won the Young Sports Team of the Year award and the Sports Personality of the Year trophy.
Farnham Roller Hockey Club won a number of awards, including Club of the Year.
