A team of Farnham Runners impressed at the Hart 4 Trail Relay Race.
Organised by Hart Road Runners, the popular annual event involves teams of four people completing as many four-kilometre laps as possible on a traffic-free trail course in the picturesque woods at Minley Manor in four hours.
A selection of refreshments were available at the race village at the venue. There were also spot prizes, medals for all competitors and trophies for the winners. Music was supplied by Frimley Park Radio, and runners representing clubs from far and near seemed to thoroughly enjoy taking part in the event.
Team We Love to Run from Farnham Runners, comprising Linda Tyler, Lindsay Bamford, Sue Tayor and Bridget Naylor, completed 12 laps in total to come fourth in the female team category. All four team members ran four-kilometre laps consistently in the heat of the day, with teamwork and cakes helping to keep them going.
Farnham Runners’ popular club bar evenings continued with a talk from member Howard Inns, author and trustee of the Amphibian and Reptile Conservation Trust. The presentation, entitled the wildlife we run past, offered a chance for members to learn from an expert about what they might be missing while they run. Howard has made several appearances on BBC programmes Springwatch and Countryfile.
All the usual Farnham Runners club training sessions are continuing, with more running and social events planned for the autumn. Anyone who would like more information should visit the club’s website at https://www.farnham-runners.org.uk/
