Aldershot Town conceded in stoppage time as they slipped to a 2-1 defeat at home to Boston United in the National League.
Tyler Frost’s 45th-minute goal gave the Shots the lead, but second-half goals from James Gale and Jai Rowe gave the visitors the three points in front of a crowd of 1,738 at the EBB Stadium.
The Pilgrims created the first chance of the evening in the ninth minute when Frankie Maguire hit a left-foot shot wide of the far left-hand post after meeting Brad Nicholson’s long throw.
The visitors went close again two minutes later when Maguire’s corner was half-cleared to Nicholson, who hit a low shot which was well parried away by Shots keeper Marcus Dewhurst.
Jacob Hazel was next to try his luck for Boston on 26 minutes, but his left-foot shot from 25 yards out went well over the bar.
The Shots then produced a nice move on the half-hour mark. Ollie Bray held the ball up before giving it to Kai Corbett, who played the ball out to the right to Frost. Frost hit an angled drive goalwards, but Cameron Green got across quickly to deflect Frost’s effort behind for a corner.
The Pilgrims went close seven minutes later when Hazel got on the end of a through ball down the left channel and hit a low left-foot shot which was well blocked by Dewhurst at his near post.
Hazel had another chance in the 42nd minute when he hooked an acrobatic effort goalwards which was comfortably held by Dewhurst.
Aldershot went close a minute later when Frost squared the ball to Keane Anderson, whose long-range effort went just wide of the right-hand post.
The Shots took the lead on 45 minutes when Kwame Thomas held the ball up before an improvised flick by Bray played in Frost, who fired his right-foot effort across Boston keeper Cameron Gregory into the far left-hand corner.
The Pilgrims created the first chance of the second half when Green’s cross-shot flew across goal and went wide of the far post.
Aldershot nearly doubled their advantage in the 59th minute when Corbett found Bray just outside the box, and Bray unleashed a powerful shot on the half-turn which was well tipped over the bar by Gregory.
Hazel was continuing to be a threat for the Pilgrims and he turned sharply in the Aldershot box two minutes later before hitting a low left-foot shot which was well parried away to safety by Dewhurst.
Boston continued to push for a leveller and Green was next to call Dewhurst into action with a low drive on 69 minutes which the Shots keeper parried away at his near post.
The visitors did get back on level terms three minutes later when the ball broke to Gale in the box, who finished smartly from close range.
The Pilgrims then nearly took the lead in the 77th minute when Maguire’s ball into the box found Green, whose diving header was well clawed away by Dewhurst.
The Shots almost regained the lead five minutes later when Corbett played the ball to the overlapping Luca Woodhouse, who flashed a powerful left-foot shot just over the bar.
Boston then won the game in stoppage time when a quick break ended with Rowe firing past Dewhurst from close range.
