Alton manager Kevin Adair is delighted with his side’s form.

The Brewers beat Tooting & Mitcham United 3-0 on Saturday to earn a fourth successive win.

“It’s another win and clean sheet,” said Adair. “We're steamrolling them out.

“That’s four wins out of four, and the performances before that run were really good.

“We were 2-0 up at half-time but we were poor with the ball in the first half.

“We were good in the transition off the ball, which has been a big focus for us.

“The lads have worked it out.

“We frustrate teams for a little bit and then take our chances.

“We were dominant. We deserved the three points, deserved the clean sheet and deserve to have won four on the spin.

“The reins were taken off in the second half and we probably should have scored four goals in the second half.

“Lads that have been shining for us didn't play as well as they have done previously, but now we are getting seven or eight performances that are seven or eight out of ten and that gives us every chance against whoever we play.

“We're going to finish the season as strongly as we can and look to give ourselves something to build on.

“I've got to manage the group and keep them happy and make sure they're competent with what we're trying to do and how we're doing it.

“We're a difficult side to break down, we're exciting with the ball and we're good going forward.

“We've got goals being scored across the pitch.”

The Brewers had a tricky start to the season but have now propelled themselves into mid-table in the Combined Counties Premier Division South, and Adair was always confident his side would click.

“We knew it would come but it does take time,” said Adair.

“We put the side together a little bit later this season but we've had conversations with the club and it looks like we're in a better position to know where we're at before we start planning for next season, which is massive for us as a coaching group.

“The difference that makes in terms of being able to plan a bit better is massive.

“There are no guarantees it allows us to keep anyone but it allows us to have conversations we couldn't previously have this early.

“I'll be able to find out what ground I'm on come the end of the season and know who I need to try to bring in and what I need to do to convince people to stay.”
