Alton came from behind to draw 1-1 at home to Corinthian-Casuals in the Combined Counties Premier Division South.
Jamie Hoppitt’s second-half equaliser earned the Brewers a share of the spoils after Diogo Da Silva had given the visitors the lead at Anstey Park Enclosure.
The Brewers created the first chance of the afternoon in the seventh minute when Adam Poynter’s shot was deflected wide for a corner.
Mal Thomas was next to try his luck for the home side, but his 12th-minute free kick was comfortably held by Casuals keeper Sami Nabbad.
The visitors grew into the game and Kieron Cadogan’s 17th-minute shot went wide of the left-hand post.
The Casuals took the lead two minutes later when Jerson Dos Santos’ shot was parried by Alton keeper Theo Rust to Da Silva, and Da Silva confidently blasted the ball into the empty net.
The visitors continued to press and nearly doubled their advantage on 22 minutes when Dos Santos got on the end of a through ball and hit his shot over the bar.
Dos Santos spotted Rust off his line three minutes later and tried an ambitious long-range effort which went just wide of the right-hand post.
The Casuals created another chance on 26 minutes, but Cadogan’s shot went wide of the right-hand post.
Kiyo Brown then tried his luck from 30 yards out, but his effort was parried behind for a corner by Rust.
The resulting corner was played to Brown on the edge of the box, but his shot went wide of the right-hand post.
The Brewers won a free kick in a promising position on 34 minutes, but Darnell McDonald’s effort was gathered by Nabbad at the second attempt.
Alton were temporarily reduced to ten men in the 41st minute when Scott Sanderson was sent to the sin bin for dissent.
The Casuals started the second half brightly and Cadogan’s 50th-minute free kick forced a superb save from Rust.
Alton then enjoyed a spell of pressure and Thomas laid the ball off for Matt Benham in the box, but Benham’s shot was superbly blocked.
The Brewers got back on level terms on 62 minutes when Hoppitt headed home from close range.
Alton pushed for a winner and went close when Thomas’ powerful 73rd-minute shot flew just over the bar.
The Brewers had another chance to win the game when Poynter’s 80th-minute free kick forced a good save by Nabbad at his near post.
