Badshot Lea slipped to a 3-2 defeat at home to Harrow Borough in the Isthmian League South Central Division despite a spirited second-half fightback.

First-half goals from Keegan Bloom (2) and Stephan Langley were enough to give the visitors the three points at Westfield Lane.

Finlay Evans pulled a goal back for Badshot Lea after the break before Bailey Lamb’s own goal set up a grandstand finale.

The Baggies created the first chance of the afternoon in the fourth minute when Baback Dehghani’s powerful shot was well parried away by Harrow keeper Andrew McCorkell at his near post.

The hosts went close again three minutes later when Joe Lewis-Evans worked a yard of space in the box and hit a left-foot shot which was parried away by McCorkell for a corner.

The resulting corner from Dehghani picked out Evans, but his header went wide of the far post.

The Baggies went close again a minute later when a nice passing move ended with Lewis-Evans hitting a curling left-foot shot from the edge of the box which was well tipped over the bar by McCorkell.

The hosts created another good chance in the 14th minute when Evans worked a yard of space and fired a powerful shot over the bar.

The Baggies were made to pay for those missed chances when the visitors took the lead in the 26th minute.

Bloom took a touch before cleverly dinking his finish over advancing Baggies keeper Harry Cawdron to put Harrow ahead.

The visitors nearly doubled their advantage six minutes later when Joden Trickett was through one-on-one with Cawdron, but Cawdron was out quickly to close the angle and block Trickett’s shot.

Harrow went close again two minutes later when Jethro Odumosu was through one-on-one with Cawdron but blasted his shot over the bar.

The visitors created another good chance on 36 minutes when Bloom arrived at the back post and hit a low shot which was well pushed away by Cawdron.

Harrow doubled their advantage a minute later when Tyrese Osbourne’s free kick took a wicked deflection and was superbly saved by the wrong-footed Cawdron, but the loose ball fell to Bloom who showed good composure to fire home.

The Baggies nearly pulled a goal back in the 40th minute when David Garlinge dragged his right-foot shot just wide of the far post.

The visitors then went 3-0 up in first-half stoppage time when Langley leapt highest to head home from a corner.

The Baggies started the second half brightly despite their 3-0 deficit, and nearly pulled a goal back on 53 minutes when Dehghani’s free kick picked out George Winkworth, who smacked his header against the crossbar.

The hosts won a penalty six minutes later and Evans confidently fired his penalty into the top left-hand corner to make it 3-1.

The Baggies scored their second of the afternoon in the 71st minute when Evans went on a driving run down the left-hand wing and fizzed a fierce ball across the box which was deflected into his own goal by Lamb.

The hosts had all the momentum now and pushed for an equaliser, and nearly got back on level terms when Tristan Goodridge’s 85th-minute shot was deflected behind for a corner.

A melee then broke out and McCorkell was sent off for a push to leave the visitors down to ten men.

The hosts went close again when Jaheim Kamara’s 89th-minute shot went just wide.

Baggies substitute Theo White then fired over from close range in stoppage time as the visitors held on to claim the three points.
